Meet Phil Wimbles

What better way to get to know the owner, Phil Wimbles, than a little Q and A session:

When did you set up Wimbles Carpets & Flooring?
I set up the business in 2014, but before that I’d worked in carpets and flooring for over 30 years. It’s always a big step becoming your own boss, but the passion I have for the work I do gave me the motivation needed. It’s safe to say I’m really glad I made the decision.

What makes you stand out from other businesses offering a similar service?
At Wimbles, we really pride ourselves on customer service and going the extra mile. My priority is to make sure our customers are happy at every stage of the process-starting right from their free consultation. That means not pressuring them and simply offering them help and advice using my years of experience.

From a business perspective, how do you find the local area?
The great thing about Selby is that we are quite a close community-everybody knows everybody-and that’s brilliant for me as I rely quite heavily on recommendations. If you do a great job, then word soon gets around, and that’s exactly what you want when running a business. So taking that into account, I’d say the local area was really great for businesses.
